Pearse are excited to be working with one of Europe's leading financial services firms, where you will take the lead in shaping and managing global tax strategies. We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute tax professional to oversee all aspects of our tax operations. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, providing strategic guidance on tax matters while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency across multiple jurisdictions.

Your Role

As the Senior Director - Tax, you will be responsible for setting and executing the firm's tax strategy, ensuring seamless integration with broader business objectives. You will lead a high-performing tax function, driving innovation, efficiency, and risk management across all tax-related activities. Your expertise will guide complex decision-making, and you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on tax implications for business operations and investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Vision: Oversee and drive the firm’s tax function, establishing a strategic direction that aligns with corporate objectives and regulatory landscapes.

  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary tax advisor to senior leadership, external partners, and key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication of tax strategies and implications.

  • Tax Compliance & Risk Oversight: Ensure full compliance with tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions while proactively managing risks related to transfer pricing, withholding tax, and international tax frameworks.

  • Fund & Corporate Structuring: Lead the development of efficient tax frameworks for fund structures, investment strategies, and business expansion initiatives.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing tax team, cultivating a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Business Growth & Innovation: Identify and capitalise on opportunities for tax optimisation, efficiency, and expansion, ensuring the firm remains agile in an evolving regulatory environment.


Requirements

  • ACA, CTA, or equivalent professional tax/accounting qualification preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in tax leadership roles, preferably within asset management, private markets, or a leading financial services tax advisory firm.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK and international tax regulations, including corporate and partnership taxation, transfer pricing, and cross-border tax matters.

  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership.
